Each year, in excess of 800 managers and staff from Arun look forward to a Christmas Awards Dinner and Presentation evening at a hotel near Gatwick Airport, but due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, the company was forced to adapt.
With encouraging team spirit and celebrating success more important than ever during these difficult times, the company carried out a series of Virtual Awards evenings for each brand over video conferencing technology. A total of over 500 staff and well-wishers logged onto the awards, which all took place during the week commencing 4 January 2021.
A VIRTUAL EXTRAGANZA
Although all tuning in remotely, attendees were encouraged to dress up for the occasion, and help celebrate the achievements of the company, but also individual success, during a period where staff have had to work tirelessly under unprecedented industry demand during to issues such as the Stamp Duty Holiday and ensuring Covid-security in offices.
Commenting on the Virtual Awards, Group Managing Director, David Lench, said: “Successful estate agency is all about the people involved; it’s about hard working professionals and individuals working together as a team. 2020 has been a challenging year for all concerned, but in the face of unprecedented demand in the housing market due to Covid-19, celebrating the success of our offices and the staff involved has never been so important.
“Our Virtual Awards showcased the very best of our company and the achievements of those members of staff who have gone above and beyond. Despite not being able to get together face-to-face, the Virtual Awards evenings were great fun and an enjoyable experience.”
Likewise, Managing Director of Lettings, Jason Bunning, observed: “It was a strange experience putting on a tuxedo to host a virtual event from my office, but the past few months have been a series of firsts!
“However, the awards were great fun and shone a light on the serious talent we have as a company, and their achievements during a challenging period should certainly not be ignored.
“We hope this is the last Virtual Awards we’ll have to attend, but many thanks for all staff who helped to put together a series of very slick and professional awards.
